About Us

Neighbors Empowering Youth (N.E.Y) is a non-profit 501(c) 3 service organization established to provide computers and computer training to the under-served youth of the Pasadena and Altadena Communities in California, who are vulnerable to the effects of poverty, crime, gang involvement, unemployment, and academically at-risk. It is guided by the belief that young people are the future of society, and that family and community involvement form the framework of a civilized society. We strive to help youths to obtain the necessary computer skills to meet the demands of future employers. The emphasis is on providing directions that result in marketable skills and instructions that promote self-worth and confidence in all young adults.

Neighbors Empowering Youth promotes the use of technology in education by providing computer access, training and mentoring that encourage:

· Academic enrichment,

· Exploration of the Internet, and

· Multi-media activities.

We have partnered with community, government, and corporate sponsors, such as LockHeed Martin, Pasadena Community Foundation, NASA and the Department of Justice, who allow N.E.Y to establish community technology centers, outreach programs, and in home computer placement.

The mission and goal reflect the collective efforts of parents, teachers, business, and community leaders who believe that access and training will aid to eliminate the documented disadvantages of “the digital divide” produced by the growing technology advancement that are inaccessible to so many individuals.
